DIYGPCH

Nutrient film technique(NFT) - A hydroponic method in which nutrient is fed into grow tubes or trays in a thin film where the roots draw it up. This "nutrient film" allows the roots to have constant contact with the nutrient and the air layer above at the same time. (www.ohfarms.com.sg)

That is the conventional method. This is my DIYGPCH Do it yourself, grow pak choi hypothesis. However, this technique is not yet confirm by anyone at the moment and further investigations are required to validate the practicability of growing pak chois using this newly developed technique.

This is a a open water culture system where growing in a greenhouse is not required. There is no need for aggregate culture and only occasional aeration is provided. And that only occurs randomly when someone walk pass and accidentally kick it. There is also no need for EC and pH measurement, the only regular monitoring is by visual detection. A change of new solution occurs around twice a week and depends more on my availablity. The purpose of changing the solution is to prevent mosquitoes from growing in it and as a precaution for the spread of dengue fever to people in the vincinity (e.g. me etc.).

So far, there have not been any deaths reported YET. More updates coming up.
